|“|| Within a few days after the Allies activated their secret weapon, dozens of PsiCorps bases in Western Europe have been destroyed and numerous Yuri's spies eliminated. Rashidi becomes wary that his weapon facilities might be next on the Euro Alliance's hitlist.|
- Mission description
Lizard Brain is the sixth mission of the Epsilon Act Two campaign. As the research facility of Rashidi falls under attack by the Euro Alliance, the Proselyte must ensure the safety of the weapon prototypes he has been developing.
Following the disastrous attack on the London Fortress which also reveals the existence of a gargantuan Allied secret weapon, the Epsilon starts to suffer heavy losses in the coasts of Atlantic, especially the Iberian peninsula and North Africa, from Allied attacks which utilizes the secret weapon to move their forces nearly instantly from one base to another, preventing the Epsilon from organizing an effective counterattack or even defensive measures.
Knowing that the momentum is lost, Yuri decides to direct all of the available Epsilon forces to protect an Epsilon research installation in Todra Valley, Morocco, where Rashidi is currently developing several new weapons for use by the Epsilon. Unable to quickly respond to an impending attack on the facility, Yuri ordered his second-in-command to use whatever forces available to him from the local Scorpion Cell garrison and ensure the safety of various prototypes of new Epsilon weapons, especially one that contains an important part of Yuri's research which will turn the tide into Epsilon's favor, by any means necessary and no matter what.
Knowing that the Allies are able to teleport their forces anywhere in an instant, the Proselyte realized that the battle had essentially become one-sided and opts to not focus himself on defending the Epsilon's positions, but rather on his primary mission to get the prototypes into a safe place as fast as he can.
The Allies have already commenced their attack on the research installation, which resulted in the near obliteration of the northeastern Epsilon base. Not even a Brute army was able to flinch the Europeans. Surprisingly, most of the Epsilon buildings were left unharmed, including a Pandora Hub, which could grant access to Epsilon Adepts if recaptured.
The Scorpion Cell forces mobilized quickly. The prototypes were escorted by stolen Soviet equipment, whereas the western Epsilon strike force cleared out the way by eliminating Tech SAM Sites, hidden Mirage Tanks and Snipers. Reinforcements were limited, as only Plague Splatters arrived on the scene. By the time the prototypes had reached the western outpost, the Psychic Beacon that controlled the Americans was destroyed.
Although the Scorpion Cell had lost control of the southeastern base (formerly the research site), this was a minor problem as the western outpost had multiple Cloning Vats, enabling them to mass their infantry (especially Brutes) for a final push up northwest where the tunnel was located, which was heavily guarded by Allied troops, especially hidden Mirage Tanks that made it difficult to send the prototypes into the tunnel without getting destroyed. Despite the numerous casualties from both sides, the Scorpion Cell was able to escort all prototypes into the tunnel.
|“|| The prototypes are secured, safe from the blitz Euro Alliance attack. With the Allies destroying our bases one after another, we need to move to a location far away from them and bring our ace into the play earlier than we have planned.|
- Yuri's message
While the Prototypes were successfully escorted to a safer location, the Euro Alliance continue to press on the attack, and the surviving Epsilon forces have to retreat elsewhere. Yuri, realizing his plan isn't going smoothly as he expected, decided to put his ace in the hole in the game... However another problem just came to be as well and the Proselyte is sent to the Epsilon landing site on Totoya Island to ensure her safe arrival.
In this mission, only the Opus Tank and Transport Pod prototypes are fully functional. All three other prototypes are unarmed, and in addition the Colossus prototype can't deploy, and the Basilisk can't stay indefinitely on the air and must land when not moving. If any of the prototypes are destroyed, the mission will end in failure, so they should be protected at all times.
Although the northeastern base can be recaptured, it is not recommended to do so if the player wants to speedrun the mission. In addition, the player has limited funds.
All prototypes must be escorted to the northwestern tunnel. It is heavily guarded however, so the player must prepare for a chaotic battle, as their only production structures are Barracks and a few Cloning Vats. Amassing Brutes and Archers is a recommended strategy to clear out the path between the research site and the western Epsilon outpost, as well as the tunnel itself.
Reinforcing both the western outpost and the research site is optional, but possible. The western outpost is far easier to reinforce due to capturable Yuri Statues and unmanned Tank Bunkers.
